Nash Tawfik | RCC

BACKGROUND

Hello, I'm Nash, a registered clinical counsellor, and I'm here to support you. Over the years, I've had the privilege of counselling individuals in both English and Arabic, addressing a range of topics including attachments, sexual orientation, and other issues important to the queer community.

My background, originally from the Middle East, has shaped my passion for supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly given the challenges they face in many communities. I've dedicated myself to this cause and have contributed to the field by publishing my thesis as a guidance workbook for counsellors working with Arab queer clients in Canada. Additionally, being an immigrant and a BIPOC woman myself, I'm passionate about working with immigrants and other BIPOC individuals, understanding the unique challenges they may face in navigating life's journey. Moreover, I find great fulfillment in engaging in conversations about spirituality, exploring its significance and impact on personal growth and well-being. It's a realm that I believe holds immense potential for enriching our understanding of ourselves and our place in the world.

Prior to focusing on counselling, I gained valuable experience as a clinical psychologist assistant in hospital settings and as a life coach. However, counselling has become my primary focus due to its unique ability to delve deeply into emotions and facilitate meaningful growth.

Outside of work, you'll find me at the movies or enjoying the outdoors with my two beloved golden retriever pups, Ozi and Gigi.

THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

In life's journey, we often encounter crossroads that can feel daunting to navigate alone. Let me extend a warm invitation for us to embark on a path of self-discovery, healing, and growth together. My goal is to offer you a welcoming and supportive space, free from judgment, where your thoughts and feelings can unfold naturally. Whether you're weathering the storms of stress, seeking clarity amidst life's complexities, or simply yearning for a compassionate ear, I'm here to accompany you.

My approach is rooted in emotionally focused and feminist theories, meaning we'll explore your world through the lenses of emotions and relationships. I also prioritize being trauma-informed, acknowledging that our past experiences shape our present, and I'm here to assist you on that journey. I've worked with clients ranging from ages 13 to 80 and had the privilege of supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including queer folks, those experiencing grief, immigrants, refugees, and trauma survivors. My expertise lies in childhood and attachment trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, relationships, immigrants' issues, and spirituality.

Think of our sessions as cozy and safe spaces where we can chat, laugh, and work through whatever challenges life throws your way. Whether you're navigating relationships, healing from the past, or striving for personal growth, know that we are in this together.
